Was Nationals Park worth it for DC?
DC has proposed building a new soccer stadium at Buzzard Point with help from public funds. The city already did this for Nationals Park, but did it work? We can find out by doing a cost-benefit analysis. Building Nationals Park cost $701.3 million, according to a 2008 estimate. For a while, Georgetown was “West Washington”
Businesses and residents of the neighborhood near Nationals Park can’t decide whether to call it Navy Yard or Capital Riverfront. If Georgetown is any precedent, then the newer Capitol Riverfront name won’t stick, at least not forever.
