ARC tunnel back on life support
New Jersey Governor Christie has agreed to hold off on killing the ARC tunnel at least for two weeks to give time for negotiations. Secretary LaHood made clear to Christie that New Jersey wouldn’t get to keep the $3 billion in federal funds (and may even have to pay back $300 million already spent), which some suspected was Christie’s actual objective. It was reported yesterday that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a Republican, is expected to kill the ARC Tunnel project.
